April Allderdice, Director, CEO

April AllderdiceApril Allderdice brings first hand experience launching new ventures, structuring financing packages, conducting strategic analysis, designing pilots and implementing technology. As a Fulbright scholar and Echoing Green fellow, April helped to start up Grameen Shakti, the renewable energy business of Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. She was also an associate at McKinsey and Company, as well as a project manager at Dalberg GDA. She started her career at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory working on the Renewables for Village Power program. She holds a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelors Degree in Physics from Wesleyan University. She is the co-author with John Rogers of Renewable Energy for Microfinance.

James Dailey, Director, CTO

James DaileyJames Dailey worked at the Grameen Technology Center since its founding in 2001, and led the development of the Microfinance Open Source (Mifos) project. He holds a degree in MIS from the University of Notre Dame, and a Masters in international environmental policy from the University of Washington. He has worked on several business start up concepts, including Credit Bureaus for Microfinance and MicroFinance ClearingHouse. He is also a long time Board member of Climate Solutions, a non-profit in Seattle, and has written on the impact of Climate Change on West Africa. He started his career as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa, teaching mathematics.

Tamar Azous, Client Relationship Manager

Tamar Azous is an accomplished international microfinance expert with four years of experience business planning, project management, and operational analysis and monitoring within the microfinance industry. Previously Tamar has worked at microfinance investment and technical support organizations including Unitus, MicroVest Capital Management and the MIX Market. Tamar holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from Georgetown University. Tamar has supported business plan development for microfinance energy programs in Bangladesh and Uganda.

Dave Hill, Vice President Technology

Dave brings over 15 years of software development and technical project management experience. He has a Masters of Science in Materials Science and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He worked on modeling fluid dynamics with start up companies and eventually made the switch to social causes. Prior to MEC, he worked with a number of non-profits in developing high impact web applications.

Greg Papciak, Director of Policy and Legal Affairs

Greg Papciak is a corporate attorney, specializing in work for emerging growth companies related to financing, M&A, intellectual property licensing and corporate governance. Greg formerly practiced at leading, high-tech law firms Venture Law Group, Heller Ehrman and Cooley Godward. He has extensive background in legal and policy issues related to climate change and the evolving carbon markets. Greg also founded a non-profit aimed at accelerating clean energy lending by microfinance institutions. Greg received his JD from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law (Berkeley Law) and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon.
